BACKGROUND
About Mike

INTRODUCTION
My name is Mike Moehlenkamp and I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for the Missouri State House of Representatives for the 68th District. I along with my wife, Lisa (Jacobsmeyer), were born and raised in the Florissant area. I graduated from McCluer North in 1980 and Lisa from Hazelwood Central in 1982. We were married in 1985 and after a short stint living in St. Charles it never really felt like “home,” so we moved back to North county. We purchased our home in unincorporated St. Louis County in 1991 and raised our three sons, Matt, Adam, and Nick, in the community we love. My family attends St. Norbert Catholic Church in Florissant. Lisa and I have been very active supporting St. Norbert and Trinity Catholic High School, as our kids attended both. We have chaired auctions, trivia nights, parish picnics, and various other events. The bottom line is, I am an active participant in everything I do.
TAKING THE NEXT STEP
My decision to pursue this next step in public service is the result of years of community and business involvement. From a business standpoint, I believe my strong track record as a North County entrepreneur and business leader gives me an important perspective to represent my neighbors in District 68. I purchased Gary’s Auto Service in January 2007. The business has grown and developed a reputation as one of the premier shops in the area and a business that actively supports the community. Gary’s Auto Service won the Best of North County for automotive repair in 2020, having received the honor several times in recent years. I am committed to giving back to the community and as such, my business is very involved in financial support and sponsorship of several North County organizations. I was equipped to pursue my dream of owning my own automotive repair business based on a foundation of years in management of automotive service fleet operations for Southwestern Bell Telephone company and St. Louis County government.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
MY PLEDGE TO YOU
I look forward to bringing my commitment and passion for North County as your representative of District 68 in the House of Representatives. I believe my significant experience and active community involvement positions me well to take on this challenge. I am committed to actively representing you and hearing about your questions and concerns for our District. I believe North St. Louis County is special, and I want to work with you to preserve and enhance our community. While our current situation has affected social interactions, I promise I will do everything I can to bring my message to the residents of District 68. In the meantime, I would appreciate your vote on August 4th in the Democratic Primary.
Candidate for MO House of Representatives
As part of my commitment to run a high-quality automotive repair shop, I became active in the Alliance of Automotive Service Professionals and currently hold the position of Missouri state President. I also serve on the Advisory Board of Ranken Technical Institute as well as other vocational-technical programs. This year I was named Business Person of the Year by the North County Chamber of Commerce and I am also Paul Harris Fellow of The Rotary Foundation. I am active in the community as a volunteer, neighborhood advocate, and ambassador of North County. I am past-Chair of the North County Chamber of Commerce and a current board member. I am a board member of North County Incorporated and President of my Wedgewood neighborhood association. I also spent many years coaching, officiating, and serving on the board of North County CYC.
